Concept of Design
"Dusting Off Your Sketch Pad"

Primer #2:
If you intend on taking your Interface Designing seriously, you'll have to come to grips with the fact that it just plain takes time.
  • Time for you to ponder over the type of layout you'd like to use, and then experiment with variations;
  • Time to get the right inspiration for the graphic elements that will best suit the sites subject matter, etc..
The best and quickest way to experiment with and resolve these questions and ideas is usually the simplest; grab a favorite pencil and start drawing them out on paper.
In most cases, you'll find that the original ideas you started with are not the ones you'll end up using. And that's about a 95% chance of that too.
(unless of course you had a wicked dream one night where all the pieces of your puzzle fell right into place and you could see & feel your design so clearly it woke you out of your sleep!)
But that won't happen that often. That's probably the remaining 5% chance that you'll use your first ideas. :?)

Ok then, with all that in mind (and i'm sure you think it's a lot already), since i feel this topic is of a personal and subjective nature, we're going to tackle an Interface design using the 2nd choice in our list of example sites: the personal 'Home Page' web site scheme.
