This section of "Creating The NUI" will basically be a summary of what's been covered in the previous sections. As well, a few final thoughts will be shared by me on Nav/Interface design in general.

Section 1 - 'Concept of Design': (contents covered)
- The Drawing Board
- Sketching Your Ideas
- Dream a Little Dream
- Your Creative Hat
In this first section we talked about the creative steps one might go through when beginning an interface project. As well, we looked at some simple ideas and techniques that could be used to inspire and further develope our initial concepts and designs.
Some important things to note from Section 1 would be:
- deciding on and understanding the goals of a web site or multimedia project, and then designing and constructing your interface around those objectives.
- designing and formatting specific shapes together, into what will be your interface's overall look and functionalities. Should it be complex or esoteric? Or would a more ergonomic, straight-forward design better suit you (or your client's) specific purposes and goals for the site or multimedia project?
Section 1 is the stage at which this decision would be addressed.
- The final stages of Section 1 took us through a simple project outline. The objective of which was to come up with at least a basic draft version of an interface, using some or all of the creative techniques outlined earlier in the section. The initial conceptualizations of your design were also to be hand drawn using just a pencil and either plain blank or grid lined paper.
